The text is about them having fun when they where little and things that most young people do and thats why it is easy to relate to. It’s kind of nostalgic in the way that it was really great before. The feeling I get when this song comes on is great. It’s that laid back feeling and it fits in in every situation because it can be motivational to do things while it can also be just something you put on when you are tired. I have no special memories to this song. It’s only a flashback from the summer and things I did as a little kid. Even though I found the song after the summer I relate things to this song that happened before I found it. I like laid back songs that’s great everywhere. It is a feel good song.

2 I think that Doctor Merrick started the facility because ha all the money from the famous and rich people. I don’t think that he is evil or mean I just think that he invited a way too make money fast and easy and went with it. The way that they produce and farm the clones are horrible but we humans do that to animals. It’s still a bad thing and all but they have no feelings. The Island are saying that human cloning is a bad thing and that Merrick is a evil person. I don’t think he is evil and I think that human cloning is not that bad. Because they have a great life until they ’’win the lottery’’. I am not supriced at all that that they paint the bad guy as evil and a horrible human. 

4 When Jordan says that they are the island I think that she means that we humans worry about dying instead of living life and having fun. Religion tells us not to worry about afterlife and that they are gonna get to the afterlife if they are just nice to other people. Jordan may also mean that life is great and they don’t need a afterlife because the fact that they are living now is incredible. 

1 The film brings up a lot of questions and answers but do not answer all of them. It makes you question life and what we do to animals today. The main themes in the movie are romance and action. Its more about the relationship between Jordan and Lincoln then clones and why they exist. It could better if they didn’t focus so much on Jordan and Lincon and more about the clones and cloning. 

3 The film are saying that the clones lives are valuable and that they are almost the same as humans. Doctor Merrick thinks that that they are like vegetables. It’s allot of violence against the clones and this is because everybody sees them as none human. The movie point out Merrick for being evil when he is not that evil he just want money.

I think that this story tells us that everybody is stressed and wants things fast. When the police asked Christopher about the dog and he put his forehead on the ground and took his hands and covered his ears and just wanted to go to a simpler place. He did have the mental decease Aspergers syndrome. What I think that the writer is telling us is that its sometimes stressful and that you have to take calm down. I’ve never had such a traumatising experience like Christopher had, but I do think that I can relate to Christopher and his situation. Like I mentioned earlier just take some steps back and calm down.

Lucy is the main character and she is the youngest child of four siblings. She is very curious and loyal and she shows respect to elder people. When they found a room with only a red closet in it everybody went out except Lucy. She was curious and she went in the closet. She is a girl with good imagination. Her siblings sometimes don’t believe her because she has such crazy imagination. They are used to her crazy stories thats why they ignore her. She doesn't seem to be scared of anything. She has a lot of courage.

The main character has no name so let’s call her Tracy. Tracy is azungo - a white person and she is 15. Tracy lives in Africa with her parents. She goes to school there. Sometimes she forgets that she’s white. Every girl in Tracy's school likes this guy Gift who is a really fast runner. Tracy even has a bit of a crush on him even though he is two years older then her. One day Gift asked her if she wanted to go to his house over the holidays. Tracy was shocked! She couldn’t believe that Gift asked her. Her? Of all the girls in the class he picked her? She asked her mother if it was ok. It’s a long way to Gifts house so they have to take the buss. Gift has 3 sisters and they share the same bedroom with Tracy. They looked at Tracy like she is a freak show. She has a hard time to sleep and she thinks that she shouldn’t come here, that it is a mistake.

Next day she spends some time with Gift. They went to a Indian shop. There is a girl there in Tracy’s age. Her name is Sunni. Gift introduced her to Tracy. He said that Sunni is his future bride. They got pushed in a back room. Sunni’s mom said that Tracy would be Gifts chaperone. Tracy feel like if she was in a trance in the dark back room. Gift and Sunni went in to another room. Tracy can see the shadows of them kissing. She realized that she has to go through this nightmare. It was going to be herself, Gift and Sunni for the upcoming days. Tracy is really annoyed with them. They share drinks together, whisper together, giggle and kiss. They have a romantic relationship while Tracy is tagging along as the third wheel. Tracy was a fool, she didn’t understand, she didn’t want to understand. It was heartbreaking news.

After the holidays Tracy is back in school and she says to her friend Gracie ’‘Was Gift going to get married?’’. Gracie responded ’‘Yeah when he is 18. She is a muslim like Gift. When they were children they were promised to each other. The family had a arrangement. I thought that you knew. Everybody knows even your mother.’’ Tracy blames herself for going. She thought that she knew Africa but she didn’t know anything. Tracy still doesn't know why Gift invited her to his village. She was confused. Did he like her? Tracy will get over Gift of course she will. Gift isn’t the only guy she has feelings for. She is even going to the school dance with one. Tracy is still a bit traumatized but she will make it.

My connection to the text

When I think of this text I can relate how hard it could be to get pushed by your parents to do something. When the boy had to go out and get groceries and then failed at it and had to go out again and do it until he had finished the task. This reminds me of when I had to shovel snow and I thought it was really hard and I kept asking my mom if I could go inside but I couldn't go inside until I was finished shoveling snow. This was not as challenging as in the story but its the same principle. This experience that I had is the best experience that I think that could relate to the text.

Val’s grandmother is lazy and she likes to watch TV. She wants to move back to New York. If she does that she will have to go to a nursing home. She got grey curly hair and haven’t left the house for a really long time. She went out to the beach with Val to collect sea shells. I think that the grandmother can be grumpy sometimes but she is really sweet and careful.
